Cross Country

Runners from both the Primary School and the High School participate in fun runs and league races as part of the Southern and Central zones.  These races take place during the second and third terms according to a timetable agreed upon by all participating schools.  The age groups vary from Under 14 to Under 19, boys and girls separately.  The distances also vary between 4 and 8 km, depending on the age group.  The venues of the races depend on the school who hosts the league race.  This year we have been hosted by Milnerton, Pinelands, Rondebosch Boys’, Fish Hoek, Rhodes and SACS High Schools.  The year’s races culminate in a Zonal Championship.  Qualifying learners can then participate at Provincial and National levels.

Our inter-house, interschool and triangular athletics events are always well received by all. All learners, including the primary school, participate in various events on the given day. We are always producing new talent and Vista Nova has been producing Western Province athletes consistently for the past 5 years.

Our girls and boys teams participate in our LSEN league, where we compete against other Lsen schools on a weekly basis. We also conduct Western Province trials and compete at National competitions. Vista Nova is always producing talent and just like athletics, have representatives in the provincial team. We also conduct soccer tournaments in aid of assisting our provincial team for when they travel.
