Vista Nova Para-Sports

Vista Nova offers a sports programme for para-athletes (physically disabled) to develop their sporting ability and give them the opportunity to train towards international competitions. Many of our athletes represent Vista Nova in the Western Province Team at the annual National Para Games. Athletes have competed in Athletics (field and track), Boccia, Cycling and Swimming. We are proud to say that 2 of our previous athletes have gone on to represent South Africa at the Para Olympics and have won gold medals.

Cross Country

The primary school joins with the high school in cross country. In the second and third term the children participate in the cross country league with other schools in the district. Our current primary school runners are Zoe Rademeyer, Ziyaad Simon, Cole Simon and Afeef Adams. Every Wednesday these learners join other schools from 16h00 to do a 4km run at different venues in the district. Their dedication is amazing as they only return to school about 18h00 to be fetched by our supportive parents.

Soccer

We offer soccer practice to the U/14 soccer boys from Monday to Thursday at 07:30. The aim of it is to teach the boys soccer skills that will enable to compete competitively, as well as to teach good sportsmanship and team work. We currently take part in two leagues. The LSEN league (Special needs schools) and the Mcdonald’s league (mainstream schools). Practice commences in the 2nd term and ends in the 3rd term.
