The curriculum for Grade 4 – 6 and 7 – 9 is prescribed by the Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement (CAPS).
Grades 10 – 12 The Further Education and Training Curriculum requires the following compulsory subjects:
English Home Language
Afrikaans First Additional Language
Mathematical Literacy / Mathematics
Life Orientation
Elective (Compulsory) Computer Applications Technology and Consumer Studies
Elective (Choice) Tourism (VNS)/Life Sciences (VNS) or Design/Visual Art (FJAC)
CAPS is applied to the entire FET (Further Education and Training) phase – Grades 10 – 12
Art is taken at the Frank Joubert Art Centre (FJAC) in Newlands on a part-time basis, between 15h00 and 17h00 two afternoons a week, and some Saturday mornings. Students are to arrange their own transport to Art lessons.
